La Frontera
La Frontera is a musical quartet playing ethnic, Mediterranean and Arabian music; the musicians are Miranda Cortes, Michele Pucci, Michele Sguotti and Francesco Clera. La Frontera is an acoustic formation of freelance musicians, operating across France and Italy (Veneto and Friuli); the group was founded in 2000 from an idea of Miranda Cortes (accordion) when she met Michele Sguotti (violin, viola) and Francesco Clera (percussions). In 2001 Michele Pucci (flamenco guitar) joined the group and in 2005 a cooperation with the singer Federica Doniselli began. La Frontera proposes original songs, composed by the group, as well as reprocessed pieces coming from Mediterranean musical tradition, in particular from areas of Arabian influence (Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, etc..). We don't play our music with a philological intent; we rather arrange traditional pieces according to our personal style, always respecting the original songs, mixing them with our personal musical influences (flamenco, classical music, jazz, afro). La Frontera has already played in hundreds of concerts all over Italy and abroad. The group composed 3 Cd: the first one, titled "Oltre le frontiere" is a live album recorded in 2001; the second one "Mar Bianco" has been recorded in 2004. The last album is dated April 2007 titled "Ferme tes yeux".
